Forest Fire Mapping Using Multi-Source Remote Sensing Data: A Case Study in Chongqing
نویسندگان
چکیده
Forest fires are one of the most severe natural disasters facing global ecosystems, as they have a significant impact on ecological security and social development. As remote sensing technology has developed, burned areas can now be quickly extracted to support fire monitoring post-disaster recovery. This study focused forest that occurred in Chongqing, China, August 2022. The area was identified using various satellite images, including Sentinel-2, Landsat8, Environmental Mitigation II A (HJ2A), Gaofen-6 (GF-6). visual interpretation, differenced Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (dNDVI), Burnup Ratio (dNBR). results showed that: (1) three methods were very consistent, with coefficient determination R2 > 0.96. (2) threshold method based dNBR-extracted used analyze severity, moderate-severity making up majority (58.05%) fires. (3) Different topographic factors had some influence severity High elevation, steep slopes northwestern aspect largest percentage area.

Mapping Forest Canopy Height over Continental China Using Multi-Source Remote Sensing Data
Spatially-detailed forest height data are useful to monitor local, regional and global carbon cycle. LiDAR remote sensing can measure three-dimensional forest features but generating spatially-contiguous forest height maps at a large scale (e.g., continental and global) is problematic because existing LiDAR instruments are still data-limited and expensive. This paper proposes a new approach bas...
متن کاملForest Fire Potential Modeling and Simulation of its Extension Using Remote Sensing Data and GIS: (A Protected Area of Arasbaran)
Forest fire models are generally used in different aspects of fire management and are helpful in understanding and prediction of fire behavior. Forest fires cause a significant damage for public property by destroying a large tract of forest. This helps fire fighters to focus on an area with greater risk and to develop better substructure for fire fighter training and ultimately to plan fire-f...

Extended abstract 1- Introduction Soil salinity is one of the most important desertification parameters in many parts of the world. Thus, preparing soil salinity maps in macro scales is necessary. Water and soil salinity as one of the contributing parameters in desertification, cause soil and vegetation degradation. Soil salinization represents many negative effects on the earth systems such ...
متن کاملMulti-scale Forest Habitat Monitoring Using Remote Sensing Data
Remote sensing imagery and advanced image analysis methods show high potential for monitoring forest habitat issues. The objective of this paper is to provide ready-to-use information on forest habitats by conducting a multi-scale approach for the delineation of such, and the assessment of their conservation status on multi-spectral satellite imagery of high and very high spatial resolution, as...
متن کاملInvasive Species Spread Mapping Using Multi-resolution Remote Sensing Data
The invasions of non-native species of vegetation pose significant threats to natural environments at all geographical scales. Saltcedar has been commonly treated as one of the several most threatening invasive species in U.S. in the next ten years. The spatial extent and density of infestation by saltcedar in the Rio Grande floodplain has been poorly understood in the past. Remote sensing prov...
